It is great when you take a decision to get your first Yorkie. It is like getting a new member of your family and a lot of care should be provided. The first thing you need to do is to make your home a comfortable place for your pet. Your house is supposed to be safe and you will need to get the basis supplies your pet will need. It is a great responsibility and you should not think that feeding is the only thing you will need to do.

Grooming, trimming are just a few activities you will need to perform when taking care of your dog. That is why you need to feel prepared for all the jobs associated with keeping your dog healthy and fed. In order to make your house safe for your future pet, you need to keep all the detergents and other cleaning products out of reach of your pets. You need to make sure that your Yorkie will never reach them.1Yorkie

Additionally, you will need to pay attention to things that may hurt your pet. They may include sharp objects or exposed wiring. After you have checked all the mentioned things, you will need to get supplies including food. Do not try saving on your dog and try using reputable brands.

If you choose premium food for your pet, you will see that it will have a better nutritional value. Visiting your local pet store, you will need to buy food and water bowls as well. Additionally, you need to look for old blankets that you do not use but they will make a good and comfortable place for your dog to sleep. Also, you need to understand that Yorkies do not have any undercoat and they can easily get colder than dogs of other breeds.
